The first computer from Apple that is designed to be visibly worn and accessorized with. The Apple Watch carries a price tag of $349 to $17,000 so you will need some pretty good reasons to run out and pick up one. Here are your top 10 reasons to treat yourself to an Apple.

  • 10. Health: It is a stylish accessory that does everything that your Fitbit does and more. The Apple Watch will track your movements and heart rate. It is pre-installed with Workout. Workout is Apple’s App to measure your movements and encourage you to move.
  • 9. Clock: It tells time. The Watch connects through your iPhone to compare it’s time to the atomic time and readjust to ensure that it is accurate to within 10 ms.
  • 8. Customization:  No need to worry about what it will go with. You can customize the bands in a multitude of different styles and colors. Even the face can be customized to just about anything you want.
  • 7. Messaging: You can send and receive messages on your wrist. The Apple Watch connects to your contacts on your phone and allows you to send and receive messages on your watch through your phone.
  • 6. Maps: Comes pre-installed with maps. Siri can help navigate you right from your wrist. Want to know what movies are playing nearby and how to get there? Just ask.
  • 5. Remote control: Through pre-installed apps and those available from the Watch App Store you can remotely access the camera on your phone as well as your Apple TV. If you want you can even get the BMW car remote App as well as linking up with HomeKit.
  • 4. No plugs: The Apple Watch uses induction technology to charge. It comes with a magnetic charging cable that sticks to the back of the phone and plugs into either a USB port or wall adapter. The phone is listed to have an 18 hour battery life. Some after-market retailers have already started producing stylish charging stations for the Apple Watch that look more like decorative watch stands than changing bases.
  • 3. E-Mail: This pre-installed feature allows your watch to pick up your mail from your phone. Keeping you up-to date instantly.
  • 2. Security: Once you place the watch on your wrist you will need to enter your passcode onto your phone to unlock the watch. Once you remove the watch it becomes locked once again. The only way it could be more secure would be if it had a biometric scanner that would only work with your own biometric readout.
  • 1. Apple Pay: You do not have to pull out your wallet or even your phone to make purchases. Once you are ready to pay just double click the side button and place your watch close to the scanner to pay. That is it. Like the iPhone the Apple Watch does not transmit or use your credit card number to make purchases but a coded representation that has been assigned to your card number. Making Apple Pay easier and safer to use than the credit card in your wallet.
With more Apps being developed and second generations sure to come the Apple Watch is on its way to become the modern standard of "must haves" as its cousin’s iPhone and iPad are today.
